Pernahkan kalian berhenti dan melewati lampu merah? Apakah terdapat poster atau baliho-baliho besar yang terpasang di pinggir jalan?  Jika kalian lebih teliti lagi pasti kalian sering menemukan baliho berisi promosi acara live music kedatangan Charlie Puth, Adele, Taylor Swift, Bunda Corla *eh canda Bunda Corla. ataupun promosi festival kebudayaan, fashion week, maupun safari dakwah Abdul Somad, yakan? 

Atau ketika kalian jalan-jalan bersama doi *yee dasar gapunya doi, pasti kalian pernah melihat lembaran-lembaran yang tertempel pada tiang listrik? Yang berisi tulisan "Sedot WC" "Ahli sumur bor" "Service AC secepat kilat" "Jasa Mobil Angkut Barang Antar Planet". Pasti pernah kan? Hayoo ngaku aja deh lu :) Begitu juga pas kalian buka AiJi, yeah I mean IG hihi. Pasti ada kan Selebgram yang endorse makanan yang mengugah selera, produk lucu dan unik, dan barang-barang yang estetik yang memanjakan mata. Yaa semua bentuk-bentuk promosi yang mengajak atau mendorong orang lain untuk membeli barang, menggunakan jasa, mengikuti acara/festival disebut dengan iklan (Advertisement Text).

Definition of Advertisement Text

§  Advertisement is an indicating of communication with the users of a product or service. Advertisements are messages paid for by those who send them and are intended to inform or influence people who receive them. 

§  Advertising is always present, though people may not be aware of it. In today's world, advertising uses every possible media to get its message through. It does this via television, print (newspapers, magazines, journals etc), radio, press, internet, direct selling, hoardings, mailers, contests, sponsorships, posters, clothes, events, colours, sounds, visuals and even people (endorsements).


Social Function of Advertisement Text

To persuade others to take part in consuming a product or using the service

To give an information about an event or join it

To give the impression related to product/service/event

 Kind of Advertisements

a.       Product

This advertisement is provided that the consumer can buy and consume the product.


b.      Service

Service advertisement aims to serve the consumer who need.


c.       Event

Kind of advertisement to attract or persuade someone or people to join with them in some events or agenda.

 


Product Advertisement

 
 



Product advertising is any method of communication about the promotion of a product in an attempt to induce potential customers to purchase the product. Advertisement usually requires payment to a communication channel. The general objective is to increase brand awareness or to demonstrate the differences between product and competing product in order to sell it.

 

Service Advertisement


Service advertising refers to the advertising of economic activities offered by the business or any person to its clients for any particular consideration. The service agency helps someone in doing their work with return of some fisible amount. It implies the marketing of economic activities, offered by the business to its clients for adequate consideration.

 

Event Advertisement


Event advertising is any method of communication about the promotion of an event in an attempt to inform the target customers to join or recognize the event will be held. The activity of designing or developing a themed activity, occasion, display, or exhibit (such as a sporting event, music festival, fair, or concert) to promote a product, cause, or organization. Also called event creation.

Strategic Questions in Creating an Advertisement

There are four important strategic questions in any advertisement

§  What products will be offered?

§  Who will be the target customers?

§  How will the products reach them?

§  At what price should the products be offered?

 The language in advertising should be:

§  Evocative

§  Informative

§  Persuasive

§  Powerful language

§  Easily understood by the consumer

§  Simple with clear pronunciation

§  Active sentences, not passive sentences

§  Solid and strong language:

§  Positive language, not negative language


Distribution Channels

Advertisement can be done through numerous communication channels. Some common channels are listed here:

1.      Television

2.      Social Media

3.      Websites

4.      Radio

5.      Print (newspapers and magazines)

6.      Mail (flyers, circulars, coupons)

7.      Signs and billboards

8.      Public place

9.      Etc
